National History

The National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR) first chapter was incorporated in September of 1998 in the State of Maryland sponsored by the Baltimore Black Human Resources Network and the Washington, D.C. Black Human Resources Network. NAAAHR, a not-for-profit organization providing a national forum where Black and African American HR practitioners and those aligned with its goals can share ideas, gain information, and provide leadership on issues affecting individual careers and the global workforce.

With sixteen years of service NAAAHR has established itself as one of the premier organizations for African Americans in the HR profession; it strives to continuously and consistently expand its membership. NAAAHR is currently operating over 28 chapters throughout the nation.

Tampa Bay Chapter History

The NAAAHR-Tampa Bay Chapter was chartered in September 2000 and is comprised of Human Resource professionals in both Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. NAAAHR-Tampa Bay is a diverse organization that values all professionals interested in, affiliated with or working in the field of human resources. We are the premier local human resources forum for people from all backgrounds.
